I still am growing and learning here under the examples from my Ubar, he continues to train me, as he gave his word to do from the day I met him. Oh, he doesnt take me into the sands and knock the crap out of me like he used to but his examples still are a form of training and one day doesnt pass that he's not teaching us. I say "us" because those that see these examples and are graced with his presence can learn too...if they choose, but most do not. I see this and it only confirms my belief that the warriors of Lydius are an elite group of not just warriors but men.
Tonight was pleasant. We had spent, as always an enjoyable evening with family - Trenton, Kory, Cara, Meg and the girls. We were waiting to spend time with Dac and Gwyn but they never showed. The day before Gwyn said she was waiting for Dac to go exploring...guess they got caught up in the enchantment of Lydius...not hard to do, my homestone is magical. The man made it sound like he was one of Trenton's oldest and dearest friends. Trenton cleared that up, said he had met him while training in Koroba and spoke with him a couple of times after but was not that close. I like the man, knows what he wants, you can see he's Gorean to the core and from what I have met, he seems honorable. But as Trenton says, time will tell.
Annabella was there as well...briefly. She has sorely disappointed me. She claimed we were like brother and sister, at least she thought me that and I thought it sweet...at first. I told her that if she wanted to make such a claim, she would not let me down and I worked hard at molding her as a Tormaigh to no avail. She came to join us after having disappeared hands at a time and then pop in to be a part of the group? I think not...her words...she watched us. Well, Trenton from the get go told me that he didnt trust her but being a former Besnitian I stuck my neck out for her and Trenton went with it....because of me she got to stay...he trusted me and Anna let me down. I knew the day would come, eventually and the ihn Trenton raised his brow at Anna's claim of being librarian of the Lydius library without being a citizen, I gave the guard their signal. And instead of being humble about her mistake she bodaciously let her words pour from her mouth, complaining and whining...so unlike a Tormaigh. She just had to talk back to Trenton and sass back to Cara, her true colors made known last night, so naturally she was escorted from the city by guard. Kory was livid...he was ready to do more than just collar the woman but slit her throat. I guess what disappointed me was not so much that my men had to escort her from Lydius but she didnt see me as a brother as she looked into my eyes and said, she never did cuz if she did she wouldnt have disrespected my Ubar and Ubara, as my "sister" she would have seen that her actions did not honor me...she thought only in herself...there was no room for me in her pee brain or her black heart. Moral of the story? NEVER trust a female from your past that claims to be like a sister to you! But inspite of all that, nothing could diminish my elation at what happened after Callie and I got home.
The ahn was late when Callie and I arrived at our chambers and just as we were settling in, an urgent knock came, a guard telling me that Trenton wished to speak with me. With it being extremely rare that Trenton would call on his warriors so late at night I went without haste, made my way to his study where he and Cara waited for me. I have not been to sleep yet, I have been left speechless, in awe, and emotional. I sat quietly and listened to him tell me of the betrayal of his first En'Sword and the loyalty and honor of Tarnstrike but that Tarn was very busy and his service to Lydius kept him from being at his side and he needed someone who's duties allowed him to sit at his right hand. Rendered speechless, I extended my arm to Trenton and managed to tell him that it would be an honor to stand by his side, cover his back, protecting my homestone was always a given but to be the Administrator's right hand, an honor...of the utmost and I will not let Trenton down. I hope Tarn holds no ill feelings for he is very loyal and does serve Lydius wholeheartedly.
The ihn I set foot on Lydius soil I've loved her...and when I came home it was like returning home to a long lost lover. Now I've just been joined with her...Ive come full circle. I love you my homestone. HAIL LYDIUS!
