1st day of First Hand of the Month of Amumba (8) in the year 10,161 CA

Much has changed, much has happened. I dont even know where to begin. It's official now, I am Administrator to Lydius and already I turn grey. As with all transitions in government I have been met with a few challenges, luckily here in Lydius we consider each other family. Sometimes family does not agree with one another and there are head butts, especially between warriors we tend to speak blunt, frank and sometimes brass then our swords come out or the inclination that they will come out. But also with family we tend to forgive and let things go, because family is all we have in this life...some of us the only family we have in this life. I am speaking about the public mishap between guests of the city and my brother Tarnstrike and the former Ubara Cara De'Shea. No need to rehash the ugly miscommunication between all so I will suffice it to say, it has all been settled, water under the bridge and even our guests have decided to remain, happy and relaxed here as it should be.

On more happier notes - Tarn and Cara are now courting. It does my heart good to see that Cara is not alone. I know Trenton used to tell me all the time that if we must grieve, then do so for a time but life moves on and to keep your sanity, you get over your grief. I know Cara will always love Trenton and for a time she did grieve and now she moves on. That takes a lot of courage but Cara De'Shea is a strong Gorean woman and Tarnstrike a lucky warrior. Congratulations to them both.

Lucien Iteratus and his friends have been here, talking trade and military alliance. After which they will leave our ports to head North. Lucien has been a tremendous help to me in this transition. Ok, Im exaggerating, he's has been supportive in my transition to Administrator. Cos is a great ally to Lydius. I like his aggressive nature and firm stance he keeps. I can learn much from him as a leader and I intend to.

Callie....well, she's still a brat. I honored a request for the Free Woman Sakari Justice to come to Lydius. Seems her and Sakari have a past and well Callie is trying to accept. Its just I say she's a brat because she teases me about Sakari and I getting along, we get along quite well, in fact. She has made some statements about changing her ways and making things up to a few people....including Callie. Now I do know what has transpired between Callie and Sakari but I still sense some skepticism from Callie. I do hope they work things out for friendship sake. Callie has been a tremendous help to me. I seriously do not know what I would do without her. Her face seems to light up when I ask her to prepare agreements for trade talks, or other tasks and she has done a marvelous job getting all of it together. We had to work on the trade/military agreement for Cos together for it seemed she never did it before and I just assumed her being En'Merchant she was called upon to get them prepared but it seems Trenton was a little tight in his delegating authority. But she seemed excited to do it and that made me smile. Heh, I wasnt about to admit to her that I didn't know what I was doing either. She has been paramount in this transition and she needs to be commended for it.

About Sakari, in all honestly I like her. She has been nothing but pleasant and sincere in her need to better herself. She has a way of lifting my spirits and making me smile. And when we do spend some time alone the conversation is straightforward and natural. I would like to get to know her better and have told her so. Of course my duties to my city prevail over social time, it may be a long time in the works. She says she has no where to go and loves Lydius, even mentioned staying permanently. I know that its too soon to jump into proclaiming Homestone and I as Admin would have to go into detail about her previous home and on top of that I would need to see what she truly has to offer Lydius, my Lydian family would have to accept her as well so it really does depend on Sakari and her plight to change her ways. Trenton taught me much and one thing was to be cautious when it came to guests claiming homestone so soon in their stay, never turn them away but make sure it is a lifelong committment and not one of escape or just cuz. I told Sakari that it was too soon and we would know when the time was right, we would cross that bridge when we get there. In the meantime I will enjoy her company and deal with talk from others about it.

Wow so much has happened, let's see. Cara is no longer City En'Scribe...long story, not worth getting into here, we'll just say that it was her idea and I agreed. She is dealing with alot, it will do her good to relax and take some time and not worry so much about city matters. But I will ask for help if I need it and I know she would willing do so. So I have set advertisements to the Gorean Chronicle for all positions in my House, which incidentally I have changed the name to House Tarn's Fury. Modifications to living arrangements have been started and are near completion. Little by little I will be remodeling the entire House and hopefully we will be getting swords and citizens that are healers, scribes, teachers....everyone is welcome to come to Lydius to help it prosper and flourish. Im excited! I've ordered my first set of ships for the armada that needs badly to be assembled. Trenton has all his ships here in the harbor but I will not touch them unless he has given the express right to, even tho he is missing, doesn't mean I can take over his ships. Besides, I tried transferring them and was declined...:::smirks as he thinks about that::: with just that policy.

So I ordered my first set of ships from Arieana DeMeara, a loyal patron to Callie. I ordered 3 tarnships and a Serpent. The Heavy Ram will be named Tarn's Fury, a name that is getting much use now that Im Admin. Callie named my axe that when we were first companioned and now Im everything else...the new House, the ship...Im sure I'll find something else to name Tarn's Fury but anyway about the new ship, I've requested it to be very much like the Dorna, an historic ship of Torvaldsland. It will have an emerald eye to match my own eyes and it will be built and designed to appear as a tarn on the water. Just the thought of it crawls my flesh with goosebumps not to mention makes me smile. So Arieana has her work cut out and if these ships are to my liking, she will quite possibly be THE richest shipwright on Gor for supplying Lydius with its armada. I gave her the goal of a thousand ships at 48 ships an En'var....I think I will have to be Admin forever just to reach that goal.

Still some things I havent jotted down. I know I should at least try and think of it all to keep an accurate account of my life. but I think I will take a nice walk along the shoreline before heading to bed...
